Todd Duncan Congrats! 323 Yard Hole-in-one!!!
Par 3’s are like kryptonite for me. I never thought that I would get a hole-in-one let alone on a par 4 that was 323 yards away. After we tee’d off on the par 4 (Hole #15 @ Community Golf Club in Dayton, Ohio – Hills Course), I knew I hit a good shot and it was heading in the direction of the green. When my foursome got closer to the green, we were all surprised that we couldn’t see my ball. We knew it was heading towards the green. We looked in the greenside bunker, wasn’t there. We looked in the tall rough next to the bunker, wasn’t there. Then my golf partner looked in the whole and said here it is. I said, “No way”. He repeated and said, for real… here it is. I said, “stop playing with me”. He looked at me a third time and said, Todd… It’s in the hole. He pulled the flag and out popped my ball. We all started jumping around like little kids. The group behind us (in our golf league) thought that we had chipped in a ball for an eagle and couldn’t understand why we were so excited about an eagle. So they called us on their cell phone and I told them that my tee shot went into the hole. The cell phone got quiet on the other end for a few second…… and then we heard them start screaming and jumping around too. After they calmed down, I asked them why they were sooooo excited about my hole-in-one and they said…. Duncan’s buying beer…. Duncan’s buying beer. Then all of us again started jumping around for joy. It was hilarious and exciting at the same time. If my wife was there, she would have simply looked at us and said….”guys”. I’m still on cloud nine! The other exciting part about the whole thing is that about a year ago, I witnessed my golf partner get a hole-in-one and now he got to see mine. What a great feeling. Now I can cross the “hole-in-one” item off of my list of things to accomplish in life ![]()
